Mikhail Kosenko

Mikhail Kosenko is a group II invalid and was registered in a psychoneurological dispensary. In addition to participating in the mass riots that allegedly took place on Bolotnaya Square on 6 May 2012, he was accused of twice striking the riot policeman Alexander Kazmin - with his arm and leg, and although the medical examiner's report states that Kazmin's health was slightly injured, the qualification of the act was changed from not dangerous to life and health to dangerous during the hearing of the case. Kazmin himself does not remember who hit him, most of the prosecution witnesses did not recognise Kosenko, and the only one who did, could not specify how exactly he had striked. In the video footage attached to the case, Kosenko is simply standing next to people jostling with the police. Kosenko was also sued for damage to Moscow property, such as asphalt pavement, toilet cubicles, etc. (at the same time, the case does not mention Kosenko's involvement into the damaging), however later the lawsuit was withdrawn. While the case was pending in court, Kosenko's mother died, but no letters were given to him in the pre-trial detention centre, and he did not even know that his mother was ill. The judge did not let him go to the funeral. At the request of the investigation, specialists from the Serbsky State Scientific Centre for Social and Forensic Psychiatry drew up an opinion on Kosenko's mental state. According to the conclusion, on 6 May and later he was in an insane state. On the basis of this conclusion, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court, having found Kosenko guilty, decided to send him for compulsory treatment "up to detention in a closed psychiatric hospital".The Moscow City Court left the decision of the Zamoskvoretsky Court unchanged. Kosenko was sent to psychiatric hospital No. 5 in the village of Troitskoye in the Chekhovsky district of the Moscow region. On 11 June 2014, the Chekhov City Court decided to transfer Kosenko to outpatient treatment. A month later, Kosenko was released.
