Case summary
A resident of Penza region. On 17 June 2020, a search was carried out at his home as part of a case concerning participation in the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with involvement in the activities of the Islamic movement Tablighi Jamaat. On 10 October 2022, he was sentenced; on 21 December, the appellate court overturned the sentence. On 25 July 2024, the court of first instance sentenced Maturin to a three and a half year suspended sentence.
