Case summary

A resident of Samara. In May 2024, he was detained at the border with Kazakhstan. According to his ex-wife, he was moving cars. During the search, as she claims, Mirkulov was beaten: she saw blood on a towel in the flat, and at the hearing to elect a preventive measure, he was limping and had a broken nose. Mirkulov was taken into custody on charges of preparing to participate in the activities of a terrorist organisation and state treason in connection with his intention to join the Freedom of Russia legion. According to his ex-wife, he was forced to admit guilt. On 18 April 2025, Mirkulov was sentenced to ten years in a strict regime colony.
