Case summary

In December 2016, Nodirov was taken into custody together with 11 other people on suspicion of involvement in the islamist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir. On 15 February 2019, he was sentenced to 16 years in a strict regime penal colony.

In January 2022, Nodirov was sentenced to a further three years on charges of publicly condoning terrorism because of his conversations about Hizb ut-Tahrir at the penal colony.
