According to the Investigative Committee report, on June 11, 2021, several young individuals on Nagorny Boulevard were alleged to "have pursued the objective of desecrating a religious shrine highly regarded by believers — an Orthodox icon. They engaged in public actions that showed obvious disrespect towards others, with the apparent intention of offending the religious sentiments of believers."
