Case summary

A Crimean Solidarity activist, Ametov was detained on March 27, 2019, following an inspection of his residence. The next day, he was taken into custody and charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. He was initially sent to a pre-trial detention center in Rostov oblast but was later transferred back to Crimea. In March 2020, it became known that Ametov was facing additional charges related to preparing to overthrow the constitutional order.

On November 24, 2022, he received a 13-year sentence in a strict-regime penal colony.
