Case summary

A "Crimean Solidarity" activist. On March 27, 2019, he was detained after a search in his house and the next day placed in custody on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organization due to alleged involvement in the Islamist party "Hizb ut-Tahrir", which has nothing to do with terrorism. He was sent to a pre-trial detention centre in Rostov Oblast and later transferred back to Crimea. In March 2020, it became known that Muedinov was also accused of preparing to overthrow the constitutional order.

On November 24, 2022, he was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime penal colony.
