A classified witness, identified under the pseudonym "Mustafin Ildar Ayratovich," testified at the trial of Ilshat Ulyabayev that he "gave instructions to block the gate and the road leading from the courthouse." Additionally, the deputy commander of the "Ural" detachment, Nagim Gayazov, claimed at the same trial that he heard him giving commands such as: "Push," "Push," "Do not let the cops through," "Beat them," and "Throw stones."
