Case summary

She is a resident of Yekaterinburg. She was charged with organising the activities of an extremist organisation: the investigation believed that she was the head of the Sverdlovsk branch of the Citizens of the USSR movement (“Acting Head of the Sverdlovsk Region of the RSFSR”). The supporters of this movement deny the collapse of the USSR; how well structured this movement is and how serious a threat it poses to Russian society is unclear. Gorina was under personal recognizance. On 14 August 2024, she was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony. On 4 July 2025, in an appellate procedure, her real term was changed to a suspended sentence with a four-year probation period.
