Case summary
Resident of Ufa. In April 2017, detained and then arrested in a case of involvement in a terrorist organisation in connection with alleged involvement in the activities of the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, unrelated to terrorism. On 21 February 2019, he was sentenced to 16 years in strict regime colony. On 18 October, the Supreme Court reclassified the charge from participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation to organising activities and added three months to the term.
