Case summary
Former coordinator of the Chelyabinsk branch of the Viasna movement. It first became known on 30 April 2021 that a case under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code had been initiated in the Chelyabinsk region. The message of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (UMVD) did not specify against whom the case was initiated, but the age of the suspect - 18 years old - was specified. On May 1, Kashevarov was detained at the airport of Yekaterinburg: he was going on vacation to Armenia. Later that day he was charged under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code and released on personal recognisance. On 3 May, Kashevarov's house was searched. On 17 May, the personal recognizance was cancelled, at the same time it became clear that Kashevarov was a suspect. On 13 August, it became known that Kashevarov had left Russia. On 9 November, the case was dismissed due to the fact that not all court decisions on Kashevarov's administrative cases, that were included in the criminal case, had entered into force at the time of the initiation of the latter.
In 2023, it became known that Kashevarov was a suspect in a criminal case initiated in connection with the activities of Viasna: he was charged with organising the activities of an extremist community, spreading "fakes" about the Armed Forces, calling for activities threatening the security of the Russian Federation and spreading disrespectful information about the days of military glory.
Others charged under Article 207.3 part 2 items b, d, Russian Criminal Code
