Case summary
In August 2018, a search was conducted at Prianikov's apartment while he was away. He was identified as a suspect in connection with participation in the activities of an extremist organisation, and a travel ban was imposed. Another search took place at his home on 16 April.
On 27 January 2020, he was sentenced to two and a half years on probation. However, on 6 August, the appellate court sent the case back for reconsideration. On 15 July 2021, he received another two-year probation sentence. The appellate court declared him innocent on 15 March 2022, but this decision was overturned by the Supreme Court on 14 March 2023, which returned the case to the appellate court. On 6 July, the appellate court annulled the verdict again and referred the case back to the prosecutor's office. On 8 November, the cassation court returned the case to the appellate court, which upheld the two and a half year probation sentence on 8 February 2024.
On 30 March 2020, another search was conducted at Prianikov's home, and he was interrogated as a suspect in a separate case involving an extremist organisation, resulting in another travel ban. It later became known that he was also accused of involving children in a criminal group. On 9 August 2023, the court sent this case back to the prosecutor's office, and in March 2025, the investigation was closed.
