Case summary
On 30 March 2020, a search was carried out at the home of Zaliaeva and her husband. On 19 May, criminal proceedings were initiated against Zaliaeva on charges of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation, and she was placed under a travel restriction. It later emerged that additional charges were brought against Zaliaeva for involving others in the organisation’s activities and for recruiting minors into a criminal group. On 9 August 2023, the court returned the case to the прокуратура. In March 2025, the investigation was terminated.
