Case summary
A native of Tajikistan, he lived in Moscow. In September 2021, he was detained and placed into custody on charges of organising and participating in the activities of a terrorist organisation. Later he was charged only under the article on participation. According to the investigation, he took part in the activities of a cell of the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, designated as a terrorist organisation and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. Alleged members of this Islamist party are prosecuted by Russian authorities on charges of purely formal party affiliation rather than terrorist activity.
