Case summary

According to the investigation, on January 19, 2022, the individuals involved filmed a model clad in underwear and a fur coat with the Moscow Cathedral Mosque as the backdrop, thus insulting the religious sentiments of believers by displaying blatant disrespect towards the mosque, an object of religious veneration. Subsequently, they disseminated information about these actions on the Internet to increase their public profile. "Maslennikov R.M., according to the devised criminal plan, was entrusted with the functions of jointly directing the members of the criminal group and coordinating their actions with Katanova M.P.; jointly with Katanova M.P and Reznichenko A.Y. he was clarifying the details of the plan and actions of each co-conspirator at the stage of preparation for the offence and in the process of committing it, ensuring the dissemination of the received provocative video materials on the Internet by finding a specialist in this field and involving them as an accomplice to the crime; correcting the publication containing false information, which was planned to be posted by Katanova M.P. in her profile." In January 2022, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code, pertaining to the offence of insulting the religious sentiments of believers. On May 25, 2022, a justice of the peace from the judicial district No. 410 in the Meshchansky district of Moscow terminated the criminal case and prosecution, citing the reconciliation of the parties.
