Case summary

Yashin was subjected to administrative detention on 31 October 2010 during a rally in Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg as part of the "Strategy-31" campaign for freedom of assembly. On 1 November 2010 he was searched. On 11 November he was charged under part 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organisation) and signed a recognisance not to leave. On 28 December 2012 he was sentenced to a fine of 150 thousand rubles, but was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
