Case summary

He was the head of the government of the Russian Federation from 2000 to 2004. He went into opposition to Putin, headed the Russian People's Democratic Union, then the People's Freedom Party (PARNAS). Shortly after the outbreak of war he joined the Anti-War Committee of Russia. In November 2023, he was included in the register of "foreign agents". In October 2025, a case was brought against him and other members of the committee for violent seizure of power and activities of a terrorist community in connection with the adoption of the "Berlin Declaration" which stated the need for a change of power in Russia.
