Case summary

On May 31, 2012, Voloshchuk was brought to court as a defendant on charges of participating in the activities of a public or religious association against which a court had issued a decision to liquidate due to extremist activities. On December 11, the court declared the indictment as unlawful. However, even before this ruling, in November, the investigation re-filed the same charges against Voloshchuk.

On July 29, 2014, Voloshchuk was acquitted by the court. However, on December 12, the Rostov Regional Court overturned the decision of the Taganrog court and ordered a new hearing of the case. On January 22, 2015, new hearings began in the Taganrog court. On November 30, X was sentenced to a fine of 60,000 rubles (but was exempted from paying the fine due to the expiration of the statute of limitations).
