Case summary
Resident of Ufa. Detained on 4 February 2015 together with 30 other individuals suspected in participating in the activities of "Hizb ut-Tahrir". He was arrested on charges of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. In January 2016, he was also accused of preparing a violent seizure of power. On 30 July 2018, he was sentenced to 24 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
On 18 November 2019, Nurlygaianov was placed in a solitary confinement. He then went on hunger strike.
