Detained on 4 February 2015 together with 30 other suspects for participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, arrested on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation; in January 2016 he was also charged with preparation for a violent seizure of power. On 30 July 2018, he was sentenced to 14 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
