Case summary

Detained on February 4th 2015, together with 30 other suspects of participation in "Hizb ut-Tahrir" activities, arrested on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation; in January 2016, he was also charged with preparing for a violent seizure of power

On November 1st 2017, during the court session, the court removed Sharipov's defense attorney Almira Zhukova from the hearing.

On July 30th 2018, Sharipov was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime colony.

In 2014, Sharipov was a suspect in a case of involvement in an extremist organisation.

In October 2008, he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for a similar case.
